Flowers

22 October 2009, originally uploaded by sleepyduck.

Still feeling sorry for myself. Today's photograph is another one out of the window. I do find it very frustrating when I don't feel well.

I'm hoping that I manage to stay up for Question Time tonight. I don't watch it often, but it would be good to see the rest of the panel and the audience making mincemeat of the guy from the BNP.

  1. I know those flowers!

One of the best discussion programmes I saw was some time in the 90s when Oprah Winfry had the Ku Klux Klan on her show. It was very controversial just as allowing the BNP on TV here is, but it really showed them up for what they were. The audience were mixed race and very articulately argued against every point they made.

Get well enough to come here and be pampered xxx

  2. Your photo expresses your restricted view very well! I hope you're feeling better very soon. Also hope very much that the racists are made mincemeat of tonight. It's definitely one occasion when BBC 'impartiality' is shown up as a bad thing.

  3. Have tried to think how best to do this lots of times and have never managed to get it right. This is a wonderful shot.

Do hope you are feeling much better soon though.

Been thinking quite a lot about the BNP thing today too. Am glad they have decided to air the programme. Don't know if you saw Jamie Oliver in the Deep South a couple of weeks ago. He's not often lost for words, but he was when he came up against naked racism. It's too easy to forget that kind of hatred exists when you don't see or hear about it very often. I think we need this programme to demonstrate just how offensive the policies of the BNP are. Can't see them stopping because we censor them - but they might have to stop if the public marginalise them. Here's hoping.

  4. Yes, we're going to stay up as well, although of course it will be an hour later here, and here's to mincemeat!
