Refuge

25 November 2009, originally uploaded by sleepyduck.

I've taken many photographs of this view, but I can't remember whether I've posted any of them before now. It's the service entrance of the office building next door and it's where I go when I want a fagbreak at lunchtime but don't want to go far because of the weather. I've been complaining about the weather all month, and with some justification, but today was beyond a joke. I can just about handle the cold, the wind or the rain, but not all three at once... and it was relentless... There were plenty of dead umbrellas to be photographed, but I wasn't going to stop and get myself and my camera soaked shooting them.

Today's song is more upbeat than yesterday's. It's rather amusing to see Hüsker Dü scrubbed and smiley on the Joan Rivers show...

  1. I have been happily inside all day avoiding the weather. I don't envy you.

  2. Don't think I've seen this before, but then that doesn't mean anything. The light certainly makes it look like an inviting place to be today!

  3. Every time I see Bob Mould I get a shock. I mean, he's so clean!

  4. There's nowhere sheltered on-campus for my lunch-time fag break, your haven from the storm looks like pure 5-star luxury!!

  5. After being battered by the weather doing the horses and with the prospect of going through it all again later, I tried to spend the day hiding. The plan went astray when we had to take The Children's Mother's Son to hospital for an xray after dislocation his shoulder kick boxing. No sympathy there then! He is ok but fed up because he is not allowed to drive. They may as well have cut his arm off.

Worst of all, his new girlfriend is coming down from Uni this weekend!!
