The Council have finally deployed the Sidewalk Traction Enhancement Executives. Which is to say that they've dumped a load of grit on the pavement. About bloody time too. There has been a pretty much constant covering of snow and/or ice since before Christmas. Now, if they could only do something about the temperature...
Nothing else to report today... but yesterday I read a story about an Australian athlete (female) who had had her implants removed after discovering that running was easier without them... and she also decided that she should re-marry the husband she had dumped a couple of years ago... the only problem with this being that their divorce proceedings had gone past the point of no return but had not yet been finalised, so they would have to wait for the divorce to become final before getting married again otherwise they would presumably be committing bigamy with each other... She may be a good runner, but I think she has to work on her decision-making... Here's the link

Good shot. Pavement grit seems to be lacking here. It's still lethal outside my door. It's worst where the snow has been shovelled away a bit as it's shiny ice.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what the pavements are like here, I haven't visited civilised parts since Christmas! 6/9 inches of snow at home and 14/16 inches four miles away up the hill at my mother's cottage.
ReplyDeleteThey should have married, it would have been an interesting court case!
Ha! I've never suffered when running for a bus... it's one of the benefits of not being buxom!
ReplyDeleteCouncil hasn't managed to keep of top of the pavements here. Guess it's enough of a struggle keeping the roads clear. Traffic is quiet enough to walk there though.
ReplyDeletegrit.....what's that then?
