"Great idea! Where?"

"Great idea! What shall we call it?"
"Castle Terrace"
The previous occupant of these premises was a restaurant called Abstract, which specialised in miniature portions, gargantuan prices and overwhelming pretentiousness. I went there twice (not my choice and I didn't pay) and won't miss it. Castle Terrace (the restaurant) is due to open next week. I'm looking forward to seeing the menu.

It has a more down-to-earth name, hopefully it'll have a more down-to-earth menu!
ReplyDeleteHm... Hope it's nice but the name isn't all that imaginative. As Mo says, it might be a bit more down to earth.
ReplyDeleteIt may be a down-to-earth name, but is unlikely to be down-too-earth prices. It is however likely to be very good! Tom Kitchin is behind it. http://www.thekitchin.com/kitchin/home
ReplyDeleteTom is arguably the best young chef in Scotland. He describes it as his 'sister' restaurant (don't know if he has a sister). The beauty of the current restaurant is that he is always there in charge, unlike many named restaurants. clearly he cannot be in two places at once.
